TrueBeam Downtime

How is "downtime" defined on our TrueBeams?
- Downtime is the time the machine cannot be operated during normal operating hours. Normal operating hours are weekdays, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. (10 hrs).
- The days of periodic maintenance inspection (PMI) do not count as downtime. Each TrueBeam is allowed to be down for 8 days per year (a 2-day PMI is performed four times a year. It includes the Imaging PMI).
- We do not distinguish between the machine being down during patient treatments or during Physics QA. If the machine cannot be operated, downtime is recorded.
- The clock starts ticking after a "grace period" of 10 min. Short interruptions (< 10 min) are not counted.
For simplicity, it is assumed that there are 2500 operating hours per year. The allowed downtime according to service contract is 5% or 125 hours per year.
