Now some slides about the integration of VARiS. The following applies to version 1.4g, because this is the version we are using. In addition to the IMRT fields, we provide 2 orthogonal setup fields, which are planned separately in CadPlan and which are simulated to give reference images on the linac. The target dose of each field is known, under the assumption that each field is treated with a certain number of MUs (just enough to acquire an image). The problem is, that we do not know how many port images we'll need during the complete treatment course. Looking at the patients treated up to now, in 8% of all fractions, a second port was needed because the setup had to be corrected and the port repeated. So we want a complete documentation for this in VARiS, so that we can say how much extra dose the patient has received after the course is complete and to make a plan summation if it is needed.
